Africa Carbon Forum 28 August 2008: The Africa Carbon Forum will take place from 3-5 September 2008, in Dakar, Senegal. At the thirteenth Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC in Bali, Indonesia in December 2007, the Secretariat of the UNFCCC announced its intent to convene the first Africa Carbon Forum, in collaboration with the International Emissions Trading Association and the partner agencies of the Nairobi Framework, including the UN Development Programme, UN Environment Programme, World Bank and African Development Bank.

Development Report Office introduced the youth version of the 2007-2008 Human

Development Report on 11 August 2008. The youth version, entitled “Two degrees

of separation between hope and despair,” was prepared by young people between

the ages of 16 and 25, and offers an explanation of the climate change problem,

followed by mitigation and adaptation policies, and a call to action by young

people.
