15 December 2009: The preliminary findings of the 2009/2010 China Human Development Report for China, entitled "Towards a Low Carbon Economy and Sustainable Society," were presented during a side event hosted by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) during the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
16 December 2009: The "Development and Climate Days" meeting convened from 11-14 December 2009, alongside the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP15) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The meeting provided opportunities to share information on the negotiations and on key development and climate issues.
15 December 2009: At a side event held during the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, Achim Steiner, UNEP Executive Director, launched a report entitled "Moving Towards a Climate Neutral UN," explaining that the process has entailed: the first assessment to establish the source of greenhouse gases (GHGs); methodologies to manage the carbon footprint; and measures put in place to remove that footprint.

14 December 2009: In a joint press conference held on 14 December 2009, in Copenhagen, Denmark, the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR), the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) have reported that the preliminary 2009 disaster figures show thatover three quarters of the people killed - and 95 % of the total affected by natural hazards - since the beginning of the year were due to extreme weather events.

4 December 2009: The UN-REDD Programme has released a Media Pack titled "Reporting REDD" to provide journalists with an overview of issues related to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD) ahead of the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15).
