19 January 2011: Speaking at the Second Arab Economic, Social and Developmental Summit, in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, Helen Clark, UN Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator, noted that the Third Arab Report on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the Impact of the Global Economic Crisis highlights the most pressing development challenges of the region, including high unemployment rates and climate change.
December 2010: The UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the League of Arab States have launched the "Third Arab Report on the Millennium Development Goals 2010 and the Impact of the Economic Crisis."
January 2011: The UN-REDD Programme has released its latest Newsletter, reporting on recent activities related to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, as well as conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+).
This consultation on Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) for REDD+ is organized by the UN-REDD Programme.

17 December 2010: Four UN organizations received accreditation to the Adaptation Fund at the Adaptation Fund Board Meeting in Cancun, Mexico, on 15 December 2010.
25 November 2010: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) Africa Adaptation Programme, with funding from the Government of Japan, is assisting 20 African countries in implementing integrated and comprehensive adaptation and resilience plans over a three year period.
7 December 2010: A project coordinated by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Pacific Centre, with support from the regional UNDP Programme Caribbean Risk Management Initiative (CRMI), has produced a film titled “Looking South Across the Oceans: Promoting Cooperation Among Small Island Developing States” from the Caribbean and the Pacific.
4 December 2010: On the occasion of the Cancun Climate Change Conference, the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP), the Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), and Mexico's National Commission of Protected Areas organized a site visit to a community-based project in the protected area of Yum Balam, which is helping a Mayan indigenous community increase its resilience to climate change.
