Event: Equator Prize Award Ceremony [viewed]

The Equator Prize is awarded biannually to recognize and advance local sustainable development solutions for people, nature and resilient communities. As local and indigenous groups across the world chart a path towards sustainable development, the Equator Prize spotlights 25 local initiatives by honoring them on an international stage. The event, hosted by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), will include a special musical performance by Gilberto Gil, and will take place on the sidelines fo the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

Event: UN-REDD Country Needs Assessment Workshop [viewed]

The UN-REDD Programme will host an international workshop to solicit feedback on the preliminary findings of the Programme's joint country needs assessment with the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility. UNESCO IOC Takes Stock of West African Coastal Adaptation Project [viewed]

13 June 2012: The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the UN Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has convened a seminar to analyze the results of a project titled Adaptation to Climate Change in Coastal zones of West Africa (ACCC), discuss ways to fill gaps identified during the project, and agree on future action.
