UNDP and Government of Japan Launch Second Phase of Satoyama Initiative Project [viewed]

UNDP27 June 2013: The UN Development Programme (UNDP), together with the Government of Japan, have announced the second phase of the Community Development and Knowledge Management for the Satoyama Initiative (COMDEKS), which includes new initiatives in Bhutan, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Mongolia, Namibia, and Niger. The Programme promotes inclusive, community-based approaches to the sustainable development of landscapes and seascapes, through support for biodiversity conservation, human security, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

Indonesia Releases Score on Forest Governance [viewed]

unredd fao undp25 June 2013: The UN Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD) has launched the English version of the report of the Participatory Governance Assessment (PGA) in Indonesia. The document, titled '2012 Indonesia Forest, Land and REDD+ Governance Index,' is the first of four PGA reports expected from REDD+ partner countries that also include Ecuador, Nigeria and Viet Nam.
