Nepal Identifies Drivers of Forest Loss [viewed]

Event: Towards a Deforestation-free Future: The Demand-side Challenge [viewed]

UNDP5 September 2014: At the second regular session of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Executive Board, UNDP Administrator Helen Clark discussed: UNDP responses to current crises; UNDP's support for global development processes; implementation of UNDP's Strategic Plan; UNDP resources; and transparency and accountability. The UN development system is "determined to be fit for purpose for the post-2015 agenda,” Clark said, and the UN Development Group (UNDG) is assessing ways to ensure its members work together in a coherent, results-oriented and strategic manner.

GEF CEO Announces Largest-Ever Financing for SIDS [viewed]

GEF4 September 2014: The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Naoko Ishii has announced US$256 million in funding for projects on biodiversity, chemicals and wastes, forests and capacity building. The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS), during which the GEF also showcased its work with SIDS.
