UNEP Report on Green Investments Wins Asset Managers Support [viewed]

14 July 2009: The UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Asset Management Working Group, a partnership between UNEP and over 180 financial institutions worldwide, has released a report titled “Fiduciary Responsibility - Legal and Practical Aspects of Integrating Environmental, Social and Governance Issues into Institutional Investment.” The Group of 180 asset managers represents approximately US$2 trillion in assets under management and argue that integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into investment decisions is no longer a luxury, but a legal responsibility.

UN-HABITAT Business Forum Underscores Effects of Climate Change on Cities [viewed]

UNDP Invites Comments on Methodology on Assessment of Investment and Financial Flows to Address Climate Change [viewed]

© UNDPJuly 2009: The UN Development Programme (UNDP), through its Global Project on capacity development for policy makers to address climate change under the Bureau for Development Policy, is developing a Methodology Guidebook and Reporting Guidelines for the assessment of investment and financial flows to address climate change. UNDP is inviting interested experts to provide comments on the methodology. The guidebook is expected to become a living document and will be revised as per countries' experiences in developing analysis of investment and financial flows for greenhouse gas mitigation and adaptation.

UNEP and the EU to Support MEA Implementation in ACP Countries [viewed]

July 2009: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) is coordinating multiple partners under a four-year multi-million euro capacity enhancement programme for implementation of Multilateral Environment Agreements (MEAs) in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries. The European Commission (EC) ACP MEAs Programme is funded by the EU and aims to support and strengthen three existing regional institutions with environmental mandates to assist ACP countries in implementing their obligations under environmental agreements.
