C20 Conversations Invites Ideas for G20 Action on Climate and Sustainability [viewed]

c20March 2014: The Civil Society 20 (C20) Conversations is inviting individuals to submit their ideas for actions the Group of 20 (G20) can take at its 2014 Brisbane Summit on four areas: climate and sustainability; governance; inclusive growth and employment; and infrastructure. Discussion topics on climate and sustainability include climate change, climate finance and resource scarcity.

Bioversity Presents Action Plan for Mesoamerican Biodiversity and Agriculture Adaptation [viewed]

Bioversity International31 March 2014: Bioversity International has released the 'Strategic Action Plan to Strengthen Conservation and Use of Mesoamerican Plant Genetic Resources (PRG) in Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change' (SAPM). SAPM provides a ten-year road map for PGR conservation and use as means to improve food security and realize agricultural adaptation to climate change.

Event: The Future of Food Security and Climate Change in Viet Nam, Malawi and Zambia [viewed]

This online discussion, titled 'The Future of Food Security and Climate Change in Viet Nam, Malawi and Zambia: scenarios, outlooks and challenges in the next 30 years,' is being convened by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN), to explore the relationships between climate change adaptation, climate change mitigation and food security in Viet Nam, Malawi and Zambia. The discussion aims at exploring the current, foreseeable and likely relationships between climate change adaptation, climate change mitigation and food security in the three countries, and has been set up by FAO's Economics and Policy Innovations for Climate-Smart Agriculture (EPIC) programme in collaboration with the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and with support from the European Commission.

Regional Climate Centre for Caribbean Launched [viewed]

WMOusaid27 March 2014: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), with funding from the US Agency for International Development (USAID), launched a Regional Climate Centre (RCC) for the Caribbean aimed at helping the Eastern Caribbean improve its ability to understand and predict current and future climate-related issues and build capacity for adaptation.
