31 January 2011: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has released "State of the World's Fisheries and Aquaculture," which stresses that the contribution of fish to global diets has increased and that the status of global fish stocks has not improved.
28 January 2011: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has signed an agreement on building capacity for systems to measure, report and verify (MRV) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the context of reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+).

The Action Plan on the Role of the Forest Sector in a Green Economy is intended to provide policymakers with ideas for ways and means of improving and promoting the forest sector's contribution to a green economy. It could be presented to UNCSD as a practical contribution to greener economies in the ECE region.
