ECOSOC Humanitarian Affairs Segment Highlights Financing Needs, Sendai Framework [viewed]

ecosoc-has19 June 2015: The 2015 Humanitarian Affairs Segment of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) adopted a resolution encouraging UN Member States to support climate change adaptation and strengthen early warning systems, welcoming the adoption of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) 2015-2030 and the holding of the first World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, in May 2016. It also called for integrating work on development and humanitarian issues.

Post-2015 Co-Facilitators Release Zero Draft of 'Transforming Our World' [viewed]

post20152 June 2015: The Co-Facilitators for the intergovernmental negotiation process on the post-2015 development agenda, David Donoghue of Ireland and Macharia Kamau of Kenya, have issued the zero draft of the outcome document for the UN Summit to adopt the post-2015 development agenda, which will convene in September 2015. The zero draft, titled ‘Transforming our world by 2030: A new agenda for global action,' was circulated to UN Member States with a letter from UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Sam Kutesa on 2 June.

FfD3 Opens First Additional Drafting Session [viewed]

Co-Facilitators Identify 21 SDG Targets for Revision [viewed]

UNGA Holds Interactive Dialogue on Harmony with Nature [viewed]

United Nations27 April 2015: The UN General Assembly (UNGA) held an interactive dialogue on the theme ‘Harmony with Nature: Towards achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) including addressing climate change in the post-2015 development agenda,' in commemoration of Mother Earth Day, which is marked annually on 22 April. The meeting discussed how society should function to be consistent with a Harmony with Nature paradigm. A summary of the event will be circulated to Member States and stakeholders by the UNGA President.

FfD-Post-2015 Joint Session Debates Synergies, Technology, Ambition [viewed]
