October Update on Doha Amendment Ratification [viewed]

UNFCCC5 October 2015: Since 18 August 2015, the UNFCCC Secretariat has reported that Algeria, Bhutan, Hungary, Madagascar, Panama, Samoa, Switzerland and Thailand have accepted the Doha Amendment, which formalizes commitments for the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol (2013-2020). These announcements bring the total number of Parties that have deposited their instruments of acceptance to 49.

UNFCCC Reports on Submission and Review of Sixth National Communications, Biennial Reports [viewed]

UNFCCC30 September 2015: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published a note outlining the status of submission and review of sixth national communications (NC6) and first biennial reports (BR1) (FCCC/SBI/2015/INF.9). At the time of the note's preparation, the Secretariat had received national communications from all 43 Annex I Parties and Kazakhstan. Twenty-six Parties submitted them before the due date of 1 January 2014, while 17 and Kazakhstan made their submissions after the due date.

JI Supervisory Committee Approves 2016-2017 Business and Management Plans [viewed]

UNFCCC30 September 2015: During its 37th meeting, the Joint Implementation (JI) Supervisory Committee approved its two-year business plan and management plan (MAP) for the period 2016-2017. The business plan sets out the strategic direction for JI during 2016 and 2017, and the MAP outlines the work, capacity needs and estimated resources that will be needed to implement the business plan.

September 2015 Climate2 October 2015: During the month of September, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the World Bank, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) reported on new funding, and project news and other climate finance-related developments. Multilateral development banks, climate funds, and others released studies, briefs and reports, including on carbon pricing and climate resilience, and reported on events on climate finance readiness and disaster risk financing.

UNFCCC Reports on Assessing Risk and Vulnerability of Agricultural Systems [viewed]

UNFCCC29 September 2015: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the in-session workshop on the assessment of risk and vulnerability of agricultural systems to different climate change scenarios at regional, national and local levels, including but not limited to pests and diseases, which was held on 3 June 2015, in Bonn, Germany, during the 42nd session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 42). The document (FCCC/SBSTA/2015/INF.7) summarizes the workshop proceedings for further consideration by SBSTA 43 scheduled to take place during the period between 30 November to 1 December 2015, in Paris, France.
