Event: Expert Meeting on Guidance on Systems for Providing Information on How Safeguards for REDD-plus Activities are Addressed and Respected [viewed]

This expert meeting is being held in response to a request by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) that the Secretariat organize meetings of technical experts on matters identified by parties in relation to methodological guidance for activities relating to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+). This expert meeting is being held on one of the issues identified: guidance on systems for providing information on how the safeguards referred for REDD+ activities are addressed and respected.

New Series of Joint Implementation Audio Files Released [viewed]

UNFCCC Releases Technology Executive Committee's Modalities and Procedures [viewed]

UNFCCC30 September 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the modalities and procedures of the Technology Executive Committee (TEC) (FCCC/CP/2011/8) for consideration by the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UNFCCC. Host Country Agreement Signed for Durban Climate Change Conference [viewed]

3 October 2011: Christiana Figueres, UNFCCC Executive Secretary, and Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, have signed the Host Country Agreement for the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17) to the UNFCCC and the seventh session of the Conference of the Parties serving the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 7), which will take place in Durban, South Africa, from 28 November to 9 December 2011.
