Event: GCF Board Meeting [viewed]
The Board of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) is expected to meet in Berlin, Germany, from 13-15 March 2013. According to the Work Plan of the Board (GCF/B.02-12/03), the meeting is expected to address, among other issues: the Board's additional rules of procedure; the selection of the Executive Director; and the structure and organization of the Fund, including the model for the delivery and allocation of resources, access, governance and information disclosure policy.
1 February 2013: The Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) has launched a two-year business plan, comprising projects aimed at building the Mechanism's success and promoting its use as a tool for low-carbon development.
23 January 2013: Indonesia has submitted the "Sustainable Urban Transport Initiative" as a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA), seeking support for implementation. The initiative seeks to foster sustainable urban transport in Indonesian cities through the adoption of measures to stop the increasing motorization in the country and diminish existing externalities of transportation.
17 January 2013: The Government of the Cook Islands has submitted a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) seeking support for implementation to pursue the objective of achieving electricity 100% based on renewable sources by 2020. The proposal includes an implementation plan to generate 50% of its energy production from renewables by 2015, phasing out its current diesel generator-dominated system.
