Regional and Sub-Regional Capacity-Building Workshops on Implementing NBSAPs and Mainstreaming Biodiversity 20 August 2008: The Secretariat of the Convention on

Biological Diversity (CBD) has announced that a regional workshop for countries

of the Caribbean region on capacity-building for national biodiversity

strategies and action plans, mainstreaming of biodiversity and the integration

of climate change will be held in Trinidad and Tobago, from 3-7 November 2008.

CBD Outlines Climate-Related Activities in Quarterly Report [viewed]

administration of the Convention, which contains a summary of key activities

August 2008: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a new-look

newsletter, which, in addition to sections on mitigation, adaptation, finance

and technology, includes a special focus on reducing emissions from

deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and a summary of

key UNFCCC statements.

interrelationship between land and climate. The webpage highlights that soil

can make a difference in addressing climate change issues, and presents

security, food security, and UNCCD processes to address climate change and

soil.
