UNFCCC Maps Pre-2020 Emission Reduction Ambition [viewed]

UNFCCCApril 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published an online interactive map showing national ambition of both developed and developing countries to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions pre-2020. The map displays information contained in two corresponding documents: a compilation of information on nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs) to be implemented by developing country parties (FCCC/SBI/2013/INF.12/Rev.2); and a compilation of economy-wide emission reduction targets to be implemented by Annex-I parties (FCCC/SB/2011/INF.1/Rev.1).

Event: Tehran Workshop on Harnessing Climate Change Financing for Forests in Central Asia [viewed]

The workshop, the first of three sub-regional workshops to be held as part of the Climate Change Financing for Forests Project under the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF), will facilitate an exchange of views and experiences on climate change finance for forest management. Outcomes from the workshop will include suggestions on ways to enhance the links between climate change and forest finance. Hosted by the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), the workshop will bring together representatives from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Event: Seventh Meeting of the Green Climate Fund Board [viewed]

The seventh meeting of the Board of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) will be held in Songdo, Republic of Korea, from 18-21 May 2014. The preparatory meetings of the Board and informal consultations among registered observers will take place on 17 May 2014. The GCF is an operating entity of the financial mechanism of the UNFCCC.

CMS Parties Discuss Programme of Work on Climate Change and Migratory Species [viewed]

CMS14 April 2014: The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) has reported on a workshop at which national representatives and experts on climate change discussed a Programme of Work for CMS member States on combating the effects of climate change on migratory animals.
