The 32nd Meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG-32) will prepare decision for consideration at the 24th session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Montreal Protocol.
At this meeting, the ExCom is expected to approve expenditure to support projects and activities in member countries.

20 December 2011: The UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) has announced the launch of China's Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP) under the Montreal Protocol. The US$270 million HPMP aims cut consumption of HCFCs in China by January 2015.
25 November 2011: Parties to the Montreal Protocol have agreed to a US$450 million replenishment of the Multilateral Fund to the Montreal Protocol (MLF), in order to phase-out hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), ozone depleting substances (ODS) with high-global warming potential (GWP).
14 November 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Division of Technology Industry and Economics, OzonAction Branch, has released the 2011 OzonAction Special Issue titled "Tipping the Balance towards Climate Protection through the Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) Phase-Out." The publication aims to inspire further actions to protect the ozone layer and climate system, as well as contribute to promoting green energy initiatives.
20 November 2011: At its 65th meeting, the Executive Committee (ExComm) of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol (MLF) considered the Multilateral Fund Climate Impact Indicator (MCII). The tool is intended to support the MLF Secretariat and the ExComm in understanding the climate impact of the activities proposed, based on a comparable and fair assessment, and in keeping track of the impact of HCFC-phase-out activities of the Multilateral Fund on the climate.
7 October 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has announced the Government of Bhutan's initiative to phase out ozone-depleting substances (ODS).
16 September 2011: The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), at the working group meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, announced that it has amended standards related to aircraft operations and airworthiness to phase out halon-emitting fire extinguishers on board.
