2 March 2010: The fourth International Conference on Community Based Adaptation (CBA) to Climate Change convened in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 21-27 February 2010.
26 February 2010: Speaking at the Annual Meeting of the Bretton Woods Committee, held in Washington DC, US, on 26 February 2010, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), proposed to expand the IMF's role as a provider of insurance for low-income countries against global volatility and the effects of climate change.
22 February 2010: The World Bank office in Sydney, Australia, held a civil society consultation on the World Bank's proposed new Environment Strategy, on 22 February 2010. Stakeholders at the consultation highlighted the importance of urban planning in countries that are especially vulnerable to climate change, such as the low-lying atoll nation of Kiribati.
16 February 2010: Anada Tiéga, Ramsar Secretary General, and Hartwig Schafer, Acting Vice President, Sustainable Development Network, World Bank, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to “establish a framework of cooperation between Ramsar and the World Bank in exchange of technical expertise and capacity building related to the development and implementation of climate change projects in wetlands in the context of the World Bank-financed climate change portfolio.”
February 2010: The World Bank Institute Climate Change (WBICC) Practice has launched its first quarterly e-Bulletin, which reports on activities in its four programmes, namely: cities and climate change; innovation in carbon finance; leadership and coalition building in climate change; and climate adaptation in water, agriculture and natural resource management.
18 February 2010: The InfoShop of the World Bank has launched a book titled “Evaluating Climate Change and Development,” a compilation of papers presented at the International Conference on Evaluating Climate Change and Development, which was organized by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Evaluation Office and partners, in Alexandria, Egypt, in May 2008.
This event is organized by the World Bank, the International Energy Agency, and the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) among others. It is a forum for methane projects technology, financing and policy, and provides an opportunity to: showcase methane mitigation projects and technologies; learn about the latest methane mitigation projects and technologies; meet with potential project partners and financiers; explore key technical, financial, and policy issues; and interact with high-level government agencies from 30 countries.
4 February 2010: The World Bank is undertaking a consultative process towards the adoption of its new corporate Environment Strategy. According to the Bank, the new Strategy will take into account a set of principles, realities and challenges faced in the implementation of environmental activities such as climate change and urbanization. As part of the consultation process, a workshop for Central Asia was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, at the World Bank office, on 4 February 2010.

5 February 2010: The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) have announced that funds are available to sponsor the participation of developing country NGOs in the CIF Second Partnership Forum, which is scheduled to take place from 18-19 March 2010, in Manila, the Philippines, and which will be hosted by the Asian Development Bank.
4 February 2010: The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) held meetings of its Scaling Up Renewable Energy in Low Income Countries (SREP) sub-committee on 3 February 2010, and its Forest Investment Program (FIP) sub-committee from 3-4 February 2010, in Washington DC, US.
