3 August 2010: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a US$30 million loan to Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires to create an innovative sustainable facility to scale up private sector financing for projects in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency and agriculture, among others.
2 August 2010: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will fund the expansion of geothermal power generation capacity in Nicaragua with a US$40 million loan to the company Polaris Energy Nicaragua S.A.
The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) Committees and Sub-committees are meeting to approve new projects under this financing framework. The CIF are a unique pair of financing instruments designed to support low-carbon and climate-resilient development through scaled-up financing channeled through the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank Group.
12 July 2010: The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide GBP 450 million to the car-maker Ford for the development of low-carbon emission diesel and petrol engines.

27 June 2010: The first Summit of the G-20 in its capacity as the premier forum for international economic cooperation convened in Toronto, Canada, on 26-27 June 2010. The Summit concluded with the adoption of a final Declaration that, among other issues, addresses development and environmental issues, including climate change and energy.
24 June 2010: The Adaptation Fund Board approved the first four proposals of concrete adaptation projects at its tenth meeting held in Bonn, Germany, from 14-16 June 2010.
24 June 2010: The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) Sub-Committee meetings took place from 22-24 June 2010, in Washington DC, US. These included meetings of the following target programs of the CIF Strategic Climate Fund (SCF): the Program for Scaling Up Renewable Energy in Low Income Countries (SREP); the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR); and the Forest Investment Program (FIP).
