Event: Sixth Latin American Carbon Forum [viewed]

The Sixth Latin American and Caribbean Carbon Forum (LACF) will discuss the future of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and prospects for carbon projects in Latin America. The Forum is co-organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications of Costa Rica, the World Bank Institute (WBI), the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Risø Centre and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

July 2011: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has released a report titled "Accounting for Health Impacts of Climate Change." The report highlights that Asia and the Pacific host the greatest number of people vulnerable to the projected adverse impacts of climate change, which will challenge the public health community at the global, national, and local levels with the appearance of new diseases and the proliferation of existing ones.

Event: Clean Energy Expo Asia 2011 [viewed]

This Expo will include a conference and a trade fair for exhibitors to showcase their technologies and other work. The Clean Energy Expo Asia 2011 Conference programme is developed in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS). It aims to bring together leading players in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region. The event is taking place during Singapore International Energy Week (31 October-4 November 2011).

Event: ADB Urban Forum 2011: Financing Future Cities [viewed]

The objectives of this forum include to: familiarize participants with the Asian Development Bank's (ADB's) Urban Operational Plan focusing on the urban environment, the urban economy and urban equity (the 3E agenda) and the products available to support its implementation; increase understanding of mechanisms available for financing green, competitive and inclusive cities; raise awareness of innovative practices in financing green, competitive and inclusive cities; and increase understanding between financiers and borrowers on opportunities and constraints to financing city/regional projects. Representatives from ministries of finance and urban development, mayors, financial and urban planners, financing agencies, contractors, infrastructure companies, and donors are expected to attend.
