21 October 2010: Through its Multilateral Investment Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched the MicroCarbon Development² Fund, which will invest in energy efficiency programmes to benefit lower income households, microenterprises, small companies and forest communities, while combating climate change.
October 2010: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) published a technical note on "Climate Change: A Research Agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean" identifying the issues that need to be investigated for informed decision making at the national and regional levels with respect to climate change.

14 October 2010: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a US$2 million technical assistance grant to establish the Asia Solar Energy Forum, a knowledge sharing and communication platform for sector stakeholders to exchange information on how to accelerate and expand the use of solar power.
This workshop is organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank. It will address the climate policy of the Pacific region and the importance for national governments to lead the response to climate change and their need to receive support and constructive engagement by development partners.
13 October 2010: The Climate Information for Development in Africa (ClimDev-Africa) programme was officially launched on 13 October 2010, during the Seventh African Development Forum (ADF) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This public lecture by Álvaro Colom Caballeros, President of Guatemala, is jointly convened by the Embassy of the Republic of Guatemala, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Office in Asia and the UN University (UNU). It will focus on national efforts to address climate change and contribute to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), while respecting the Mayan vision.
12 October 2010: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is lending up to US$140 million to The Bangchak Petroleum Company Public Company Limited (BCP) to build two solar power plants, for a total of 38MW in central Thailand.
The regional workshop on “Climate Change: Corporate Responsibility and Market Mechanisms” will bring together experts from financial markets, corporate environmental responsibility and carbon markets to discuss experiences and opportunities for the private sector in these areas. This event is co-organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange (BM&F BOVESPA) and the World Bank.
The regional workshop on environmental sustainability and carbon markets will address challenges and opportunities for the financial sector in Latin America and the Caribbean and provide information for the identification of business opportunities. The workshop seeks to demonstrate that financial enterprises that adopt environmental strategies may gain competitive advantages.
