Event: GEF Central Africa Constituency Workshop [viewed]

The GEF Central Africa Region Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) will bring together GEF focal points, focal points from the main Conventions (Biodiversity, Desertification, Climate Change and POPs), representatives from civil society and representatives from GEF agencies. The purpose of the meeting is to keep these stakeholders abreast of GEF strategies, policies and procedures and to encourage coordination. The ECW will include participants from Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe.

The meeting will review progress on the current STAP work plan, identify new areas for work plan inclusion, and prepare for the May 2011 GEF Council meeting. With respect to current focal areas, it is likely the meeting will have a strong emphasis on climate change as well as adaptation and climate resilience.
