Caribbean Countries Call for Effective 2015 Climate Agreement [viewed]

G7 Germany7 May 2015: Decision makers from the G7 and developing countries, as well as representatives from the financial industry, academia and civil society came together for a high-level G7 Stakeholder Conference on Climate Risk Insurance, which saw the launch of the G7 Initiative on Climate Risk Insurance. The Conference convened under the theme ‘Reducing risks, insuring losses, increasing resilience,' and included a panel discussion with the participation of UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Executive Director Achim Steiner and the President of the Republic of Kiribati, Anote Tong.

Moldova, Ukraine Launch Adaptation Framework for the Dniester Basin [viewed]

UNECE23 April 2015: The Governments of Moldova and Ukraine have launched the Strategic Framework for Adaptation to Climate Change for the Dniester Basin, which will help the two countries mitigate climate change impacts, enhance transboundary cooperation and facilitate sustainable development. Having endorsed the Strategic Framework, the countries will develop an Implementation Plan, supported by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
