EU-LAC Forum addresses bi-regional cooperation on climate change [viewed]
6 October 2008: A bi-regional EU-Latin America and the Caribbean (EU-LAC) forum convened in Paris, France, on 6 October 2008, to address the challenges of globalization and its effect on the economy, social cohesion and the environment. Pamela Cox, World Bank Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean, addressed the forum, highlighting that some countries in Latin America and its citizens “and particularly the extreme poor, are the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.”
29 September 2008: This European Environment Agency (EEA) report presents past and projected climate change and impacts in Europe, based on approximately 40 indicators, and identifies sectors and regions that are vulnerable and require adaptation.
29 September 2008: During the ninth Indo-EU summit, which took place on 29 September 2008, in Marseille, France, India and the EU agreed to expand their cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and environmental protection. They also reviewed the 2006 Joint Action Plan and agreed to add

11 September 2008: The EU Parliament's Industry Committee decided to support the EU Commission's target to achieve a 10% share of biofuels used in road transport by 2020, while insisting that 40% of that renewable energy must come from alternative sources not competing with food production, such as electricity and hydrogen produced from renewable sources as well as “second generation” biofuels made from waste, lingo-cellulosic biomass or algae.
