26 July 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published ten submissions (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/MISC.10) on views on carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) in geological formations as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project activities.
25 July 2011: The European Commission adopted legislation providing incentives for the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from cars through eco-innovation. The Regulation enables motor manufacturers to receive carbon emission credits if they fit new cars with approved "eco-innovations" reducing emissions.
This invitation-only event will gather policy makers and experts from Asia and around the world to review the features of available tools for urban policy makers to assess the complex nature of impact and risk assessment for prioritizing projects based on costs and benefits. Specific focus will be given to the water, energy and transport sectors and the application of the Business Case Methodology. Speakers will include Rajendra Pachauri, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Chairman, Leen Hordijk, EU Joint Research Centre, and Bindu Lohani, Asian Development Bank (ADB).

19 July 2011: The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) has published the 12th issue of its Climate Change News Update, which reports on recent developments in European and Australian law related to climate change mitigation.
4 July 2011: The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced increased support for smart growth in Turkey with a EUR 445 million financing package for climate change and entrepreneurship, in support of the country's rail infrastructure, forest resources management, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
18 July 2011: Pacific small island States most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change will benefit from a new climate resilience project worth EUR11.4 million, funded by the EU and implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) over the next four years, the SPC has announced.
This symposium will seek to move the current electric vehicle debate forward and guide participants through the challenges that lie ahead in the development of a standardized European electric vehicle market, such as Europe-wide charging and electricity infrastructure standardization. The symposium will also consider the implications for city planners of an expanded market-share for electric vehicles, as well as ongoing research and development advances, EU subsidies and improvements to supply from the power grid.

1 July 2011: The Joint Committee of the European Economy Area, composed of ambassadors of European Free Trade Area (EFTA) States and representatives from the European Commission and EU Member States, has adopted a decision on European Economic Area-wide historical aviation emissions.
