EEA Assesses Emissions Performance of Car Manufacturers [viewed]

EEA11 December 2012: The European Environment Agency (EEA) has released a report, titled “CO2 emissions performance of car manufacturers in 2011,” showing that between 2010 and 2011, all major car makers in the EU had reduced carbon dioxide emissions of vehicles they manufactured, with all but two companies meeting or reaching beyond the standard required for 2012.

EC Launches Public Consultation on Emissions Trading System [viewed]

7 December 2012: The European Commission has launched an online public consultation, calling for comments from all stakeholders or experts in the field of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS). The Commission is seeking feedback on structural options and views reflected in the report, titled “The state of the European carbon market in 2012,” which was published in November 2012. The consultation is open until 28 February 2013.

EU Set to Meet €7.2 Billion Pledge in Fast Start Funding [viewed]

28 November 2012: The EU has reported that it is on track to deliver €7.2 billion in fast start funding by 2013 to developing countries to strengthen their resilience to climate change. According to a new publication, the EU and its member states have already mobilized €7.14 billion, amounting to almost one-third of the US$30 billion pledged by developing countries over the three years 2010-2012.
