UNFCCC Publishes Compilation of Emission Reduction Pledges [viewed]

20 May 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has a published a compilation of pledges for emission reductions and related assumptions (FCCC/KP/AWG/2010/INF.1) provided by parties to date and the associated emission reductions. The document provides the background information from parties on pledges and related assumptions, an overview of these pledges, and estimates prepared by the Secretariat of the emission reductions for Annex I Parties that are Parties to the Kyoto Protocol individually and in aggregate, in accordance with pledges.

UN OHCHR Releases 2009 Annual Report on Activities [viewed]

May 2010: The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN OHCHR) has released its annual report, which covers activities and major results achieved in 2009 concerning the implementation of the 2008-2009 Strategic Management Plan. UNEP-WCMC Launches Global Island Database [viewed]

10 May 2010: The UN Environment Programme-World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) launched the Global Island Database (GID) during the small island developing States (SIDS) Day held during the 18th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) in New York, US, on 10 May 2010. The GID reflects five of the themes important for islands, as identified by the Island Biodiversity Programme of Work (IBPoW) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), namely biodiversity, climate change, invasive species, pollution and sustainability.

May 2010: The International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) has released a policy brief titled "South-South Cooperation - The Same Old Game or a New Paradigm?"
