UNFCCC Releases Report on Domestic Action by Annex I Parties [viewed]

UNFCCC9 November 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a report on the implementation of domestic action by Parties included in Annex I to the Convention that are also Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, based on the information reported in their national communications (FCCC/SBSTA/2012/INF.9). The report is based on information contained in national communications from Parties and other sources for consideration by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice at its 37th session (SBSTA 37).

UNFCCC Releases US' Views on Annex I Parties' National Communications Guidelines [viewed]

9 November 2012: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the US' submission on views from Parties on the elements of the work programme and on the timeline of proposed activities, as well as on key elements of the revision of guidelines for the review of the biennial reports from developed countries and national communications, including national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories from Annex I Parties (FCCC/SBSTA/2012/MISC.17/Add.1).

World Energy Outlook 2012 Calls for Increased Subsidies to Halve Energy Demand Through Efficiency [viewed]

IEA12 November 2012: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released the 2012 edition of the World Energy Outlook (WEO). The report calls for continued subsidies to support the increased deployment of renewable energy sources. It also urges coordinated policy efforts in support of energy efficiency measures, to reduce global energy demand and limit global temperature increases to two degrees Celsius.

IEA Reports Sales of 1.2 Million Electric Vehicles, 2.5 Million Hybrid Vehicles in 2011 [viewed]

Asia-Pacific Water Forum Releases Principles on Water and Climate Change Adaptation [viewed]

November 2012: The Asia-Pacific Water Forum has released the “Framework Document on Water and Climate Change Adaptation” in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The Framework provides information and guidance on climate change adaptation and water resources management for policy makers and leaders in the Asia-Pacific Region.
