UNFCCC Reviews Biennial Reports, National Communications Information [viewed]

UNFCCC13 November 2014: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published an annual report on the technical review of information reported under the Convention related to biennial reports (BRs) and national communications (NCs) by Annex I Parties to the Convention (FCCC/SBSTA/2014/INF.20). The report describes activities relating to the review of information reported in the first biennial reports and sixth national communications submitted by Annex I Parties in 2014. It also provides information on the composition of expert review teams (ERTs) and on the training of reviewers.

WHO Sets Indoor Air Quality Guidelines [viewed]

WHO12 November 2014: After having announced earlier in 2014 that an estimated seven million people die annually from pollution exposure, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued benchmarks for achieving healthy air in and around the home. Among its suggestions, WHO recommends avoiding unprocessed coal and kerosene as household fuels.

OECD Makes the Case for Green Growth in Southeast Asia [viewed]

OECD_NEW11 November 2014: As part of its Green Growth Series, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has released a report detailing the unsustainability of Southeast Asia's current growth path. The report finds that climate change, fossil fuel-related pollution and an over-dependence on natural resources will hurt growth, prosperity and health in the long-run.

IEA World Energy Outlook: 3.6°C Warming, Renewables Overtake Coal by 2040 [viewed]

IEA12 November 2014: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released its annual World Energy Outlook (WEO), which finds that, without a transformative shift in the global energy system, the world is set for warming well beyond 2°C. The report states that, even when the new carbon-constraining policies announced by governments are taken into account, emissions will rise 20% by 2040, putting the world on track for a 3.6°C increase in global average temperatures over the long-term.

G-77/China, African Group Submit Views on Adaptation Fund Review [viewed]

UNDP Releases Guidance on Rural Electrification NAMA [viewed]
