UNEP and Partners Launch Energy Efficient Appliances Partnership [viewed]

UNEP23 September 2014: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has launched a partnership to reduce global energy demand, mitigate climate change and improve access to energy by accelerating the global transition to efficient appliances and equipment. The ‘Efficient Appliances and Equipment Partnership' supports the UN Secretary-General's Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative, and builds on UNEP's ‘en.lighten' initiative on phasing out incandescent lamps.

IRENA Launches Renewable Energy Initiatives in Africa, SIDS [viewed]

Event: Data Playground: Showcasing Data for the Public Good at the UN [viewed]

This event will showcase the UN's commitment to the data revolution and the potential and impact of such a revolution. The UN Millennium Campaign (UNMC) and Microsoft will launch an interactive visualization of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to map progress towards the goals. The UN Secretary-General's Climate Change Support Team and UN Global Pulse will present the winners of the Big Data Climate Challenge, which aims to identify and highlight data-driven evidence on the economic dimensions of climate change.
