IRENA Assembly Ratifies Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Inaugurates Renewables SIDS Network, Welcomes China's Decision to Become Member State [viewed]
14 January 2013: The third session of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Assembly convened on 13-14 January in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to discuss IRENA's work programme and budget for 2013, medium-term strategy, progress on programmatic activities, and implementation of policies on ethics, conflicts of interest, and the secondment of personnel.
14 December 2012: At its 19th meeting, the Adaptation Fund Board (AFB) accredited its 15th National Implementing Entity (NIE), the International Cooperation Agency of Chile; and approved $12.3 million in grants to fund projects in Argentina and Sri Lanka.
14 December 2012: The international symposium titled "Adaptation to climate change in the South-West Indian Ocean islands - Evaluation and Prospects" took place from 12-14 December 2012, in Saint-Denis, La Réunion. During the event, member States of the the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) called for enhancing regional cooperation in the field of climate change adaptation.
11 December 2012: The UN General Assembly (UNGA) has adopted a resolution on oceans and the law of the sea (A/67/L.21) by a recorded vote of 125 in favor to one against (Turkey), with four abstentions (Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Venezuela).
22 November 2012: The Africa Adaptation Programme (AAP) has released a summary report of the regional conference marking the end of its four-year mandate, outlining lessons learned from the programme, its deliverables and its sustainability potential.
8 December 2012: The UN Climate Change Conference in Doha, Qatar, took place from 26 November-8 December 2012, focused on ensuring the implementation of agreements reached at previous conferences. Following two weeks of negotiations, delegates adopted the package of “Doha Climate Gateway” decisions on the evening of Saturday, 8 December. The outcome includes amendments to the Kyoto Protocol to establish its second commitment period. 
28 November 2012: The Second Committee (Economic and Financial) of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) has approved draft resolution (A/C.2/67/L.43) on “Protection of Global Climate for Present and Future Generations of Humankind.” The draft was approved in New York, US, on 28 November 2012.
29 November 2012: The Third Session of the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Americas has adopted a "Communiqué of Santiago: Investing for Resilience," which calls for stepping up efforts to fully implement mechanisms and key actions to accelerate implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) for disaster risk reduction (DRR). 
23 November 2012: At its 70th meeting, held from 19-23 November 2012, in Doha, Qatar, the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) approved a tool that project participants can utilize to describe the sustainable development co-benefits of their CDM projects.
5 November 2012: The Group of 20 (G20) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors discussed progress on green growth, phaseout of fossil fuel subsidies, climate finance and disaster risk financing during a meeting from 4-5 November 2012, in Mexico City, Mexico. The Ministers and Governors assessed progress on a G20 mandate to promote growth and job creation and to address ongoing economic and financial challenges.
