28 May 2013: The 66th meeting of the World Health Assembly adopted 24 resolutions and five decisions, including a resolution on health and climate change. Delegates considered the impacts of increasing risks of weather-related extremes on both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
21 May 2013: The 65th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has made progress on energy efficiency regulations, technology transfer, and the measurement of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
6 May 2013: The Adaptation Fund has released the meeting report from the 20th meeting of the Adaptation Fund Board (AFB), during which it approved a new project in Argentina, and placed projects in Belize, Ghana and Uzbekistan in the pipeline.
18 April 2013: Leaders from the Clean Energy Ministerial's (CEM) 23 participant countries have announced new actions and reaffirmed existing commitments to accelerate clean energy deployment, improve energy efficiency, and increase access to clean energy around the world. The energy ministers and other high-level delegates who gathered for the Ministerial's fourth meeting (CEM4) also outlined progress on CEM's 13 current initiatives and welcomed further work on clean energy finance to be delivered to CEM5 in the Republic of Korea in 2014.
11 April 2013: The "High Seas, Our Future!" conference, which took place in Paris, France, concluded with the launch of the "Paris Appeal for the High Seas" stressing the importance of governance of the high seas, in the run up to negotiations on this topic in 2014.
21 March 2013: The First Arab Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), co-organized by the UN International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), concluded with a call for the successor agreement to the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) to emphasize climate resilience.
14 March 2013: During a plenary meeting on 13 March 2013, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a draft resolution that changes the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council to the "United Nations Environment Assembly of UNEP."
26 February 2012: Member countries of the g7+ group, Pacific Island countries and Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) adopted a consensus statement at the close of the International Conference on Development for All, in Dili, Timor-Leste, calling for new goals to be adopted in the post-2015 development framework.
25 February 2013: The 27th session of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC27/GMEF) convened in Nairobi, Kenya, from 18-22 February 2013. This was the first Universal Session of the GC following the decision of the UN General Assembly to strengthen and upgrade UNEP, as called for in the Rio+20 outcome document.
16 February 2013: The Group of 20 (G20) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting took place from 15-16 February 2013, in Moscow, Russian Federation, and concluded with the adoption of a communiqué in which G20 Finance Ministers commit to report on progress made to rationalize and phase-out, over the medium-term, inefficient fossil fuel subsidies that encourage wasteful consumption, while providing targeted support for the poorest.
