The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and The Forests Dialogue (TFD), organizers of the event, presented the report 'TFD Review: Country Options for REDD+ Benefit-Sharing.'

Member States Debate Working Methods, Scope and Timing of Post-2015 Negotiations [viewed]

Post 2015 Process3 December 2014: UN Member States convened for an informal plenary meeting on “the organization and modalities for intergovernmental negotiations and remaining issues related to the Summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda.” Governments responded to the co-facilitators' “food for thought” paper of 17 November 2014, which had been issued following the consultations of 4 and 10 November. Member States are expected to meet again next week to discuss a new calendar of eight negotiating dates, circulated by the co-facilitators at the end of the session.

EU-US Energy Council Statement Highlights Climate Change Commitments [viewed]

Event: Second UN Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) Forum [viewed]

The second annual Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) Forum will continue the momentum from the launch of the UN Decade of SE4ALL (2014-2024) at the first annual Forum, which took place in June 2014. The Forums were envisioned as annual events that will provide benchmarks for progress during the Decade. UN Member States will use the global platform as an opportunity to "take stock and push forward". The event is expected to include governments, civil society and the initiative's partner organizations, who will present their work, form partnerships and commit to further action. The Forum will also facilitate coordinating input from SE4ALL to other processes, such as climate change negotiations and the post-2015 development agenda. The SE4ALL initiative aims, by 2030, to ensure universal energy access to modern energy services, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency and double the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.

Adaptation Finance Side Event Promotes Accountability, Transparency and Monitoring in Project Management [viewed]

The event, titled 'Adaptation Finance: Global to Local Perspectives,' emphasized the value of accountability for failed projects, credibility of National Implementing Entities (NIEs) and internalizing the cost of climate change for polluters responsible for it.
