At its 15th meeting, the Joint Implementation (JI) Supervisory Committee (JISC) discussed the development of a determination and verification manual (DVM) and programme of activities (PoA) and requested the UNFCCC Secretariat to organize roundtable consultations on these matters, to be held in conjunction with the 16th meeting of the JISC. The aim of the roundtable consultations is for the JISC to meet with independent entities and other interested stakeholders to listen to their views on the development of a DVM and PoA under the JI Track 2 procedure.

15 May 2009: The final decision adopted by the 17th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development, which convened from 4-15 May 2009 at UN Headquarters in New York, NY, recognizes that agriculture is dependent on climate and sensitive to climate change, and that sustainable agricultural practices as well as sustainable forest management can contribute to meeting climate change concerns.
Conference on Sustainable Urbanization Addresses Impact of Climate Change on Sustainable Urban Planning [viewed]
13 May 2009: The Conference on Sustainable Urbanization in the Information Age, Role of Infrastructure took place on 13 May 2009, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, to consider how better infrastructure planning could help achieve sustainable urban development.
The seventh session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 7) and the ninth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP 9) are scheduled to take at the UN Conference Centre of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
The 17th session of the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP 17) and the seventh session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 7) to the Kyoto Protocol will take place in Durban, South Africa. 13 May 2009: The World Bank has organized a “South-South CDM Knowledge Exchange Program” in China, with the objective of expanding the capacity of developing countries in the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and providing a platform for South-South experience-sharing on key challenges concerning CDM implementation.
12 May 2009: The proposed agenda and annotations, together with the draft work programme, for the 47th meeting of the Executive Board (EB) of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), scheduled to be held from 26-28 May 2009, in Bonn, Germany, are now available.
