Event: Climate Neutral Cities Seminar [viewed]

This seminar is organized by the Environment, Housing and Land Management Division of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and will address how urban planning and building can contribute to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and enhance the overall sustainability of a city. Speakers will include policymakers and authorities from various cities, who will present relevant policies as well as the challenges to governance posed by the concept of “Climate Neutral Cities.”

UN-HABITAT Executive Director Highlights Connections Between Urban and Green Agendas [viewed]

IPCC Chair at UN Press Conference: G8 Leaders Did Not Take IPCC Recommendations into Account [viewed]

Event: International Seminar on Climate Change Education [viewed]

This seminar, organized by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), will bring together 60 climate change, education and curricula development experts to examine how climate change issues can be integrated into educational programmes and school curricula. Other objectives include mobilizing support for relevant teacher training, enhancing the exchange of good practices on climate change education and finding ways to better use existing networks such as the UNESCO Associated Schools Networks and World Heritage sites to promote local field-based education.

Event: Nairobi Work Programme: Technical Workshop on Advancing the Integration of Approaches to Adaptation Planning [viewed]
