3 December 2012: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) co-organized a regional workshop for the Latin American banking sector, particularly development banks, to promote dialogue on financial instruments that promote climate change mitigation through energy efficiency, renewable energy and agricultural projects in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
19 December 2012: The first inter-country workshop for the preparations of national plans of action for public health adaptation to climate change in Southern and Eastern Africa discussed identification of public health risks of climate change, implementation of adaptation plans and strategies and interventions to mitigate the health impacts of climate change.
14 December 2012: At its 19th meeting, the Adaptation Fund Board (AFB) accredited its 15th National Implementing Entity (NIE), the International Cooperation Agency of Chile; and approved $12.3 million in grants to fund projects in Argentina and Sri Lanka.

14 December 2012: The international symposium titled "Adaptation to climate change in the South-West Indian Ocean islands - Evaluation and Prospects" took place from 12-14 December 2012, in Saint-Denis, La Réunion. During the event, member States of the the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) called for enhancing regional cooperation in the field of climate change adaptation.
13 December 2012: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Office for North America (RONA) organized the North American Major Groups and Stakeholders (MGS) Consultation, in preparation for the 14th UNEP Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF) and the 27th Session of the UNEP Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF).
14 December 2012: The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) has reported on the outcomes of a workshop on priority adaptation measures to climate change for fisheries and aquaculture in Fiji, including the identification of inshore fish aggregating devices (FADs) as a key “win-win” adaptation to meet increased demand for fish in areas with degraded coral reefs.
The First Session of the Advisory Working Group (AWG) of the 14th Session of the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) Committee on Hydrology (CHy-14) will meet to discuss their work leading, monitoring and providing advice on WMO and CHy activities under the following themes: quality management framework – hydrology; water resources assessment; hydrological forecasting and prediction; water, climate and risk management; and data operations and management.
