Event: Asia and the Pacific Regional Workshop: Promoting the CDM and the Market Mechanisms [viewed]

The Asia and the Pacific Regional Workshop, to be held from 13-15 October in Bangkok, Thailand, will bring together designated national authorities (DNAs), national focal points (NFPs) and mitigation and market experts from the region, among others, to update market stakeholders on: recent developments in the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM); future and existing mechanisms; and new and emerging emission trading schemes. The workshop will also allow for an exchange of knowledge and experience in promoting carbon finance and mitigation action in Asia and the Pacific.

69th UN General Debate Opens, Addressing Post-2015 Agenda, Climate Change [viewed]

unga6924 September 2014: The UN General Assembly (UNGA) opened its 69th General Debate on 24 September 2014, at UN Headquarters in New York, US. Many Heads of State and Government addressed the post-2015 development agenda, including its architecture and means of implementation (MOI). Many applauded UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's UN Climate Summit the day before, with several calling for future actions, including a legally binding agreement on climate change. Speakers also addressed strengthening international security, reforming the UN and tackling Ebola.

Over 1000 Businesses, 73 Countries Support Carbon Pricing [viewed]
