21 February 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has invited parties to nominate their National Designated Entities (NDEs) for the development and transfer of technologies. The deadline for sending the name of the organization and contact address or person to the UNFCCC Secretariat is 29 March 2013.
25 February 2013: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has announced that the review period for expert and government review of the second order draft of Working Group III's contribution to its Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) will run from 25 February-22 April 2013.
19 February 2013: The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety of the European Parliament has voted in favor of a draft amendment to EU legislation that would allow the European Commission to delay the timing of the auctioning of some pollution allowances under the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).
18 February 2013: The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) has announced that the Government of Denmark has provided US$4 million for the development of clean and sustainable energy in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Palau, the Marshall Islands (RMI), Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The finance has been provided through the Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) DOCK mechanism.
14 February 2012: The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has issued US$1 billion through its Green Bond Program. As the largest finance bond scheme so far, IFC aims to engage large-scale investors from the private sector to support climate change projects in developing countries.
20 February 2013: The UN General Assembly launched the International Year of Quinoa with a High-Level Panel discussion during its plenary at UN Headquarters in New York. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Bolivian President Evo Morales and First Lady of Peru Nadine Heredia participated in the launch, which will be celebrated under the theme "A future sown thousands of years ago."
15 February 2013: The UN Global Compact has appointed Brice Lalonde (France) as Special Advisor on Sustainable Development. He will work with the Global Compact Office to develop close relationships and opportunities for collaboration with governments and other stakeholders on sustainable development and follow-up to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

13 February 2013: The Clean Energy Solutions Center, an initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), is seeking feedback on the Global Renewable Energy Opportunity Tool, which facilitates analysis of technical and economic potential for solar electric technologies.
8 January 2013: The European Environment Agency (EEA) has announced that clean air will be the focus of EU environmental policy discussions during 2013, the EU Year of Air. The European Commission is reviewing the EU Thematic Strategy on Air Pollution and related policies in 2013.
