PD-Forum Offsets Emissions from Doha Conference, Making it the First "Climate Positive" COP [viewed]

20 November 2012: The Project Developer Forum (PD-Forum), a group representing companies developing international emissions reduction projects, has offered to use Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs), carbon credits registered with the UN's Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), to offset the estimated emissions from travel and accommodation from all attendees of the Doha Climate Change Conference.

Investors Call on Governments to Avert Climate Change [viewed]

UNEP FI20 November 2012: The UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) has announced the release of an open letter from several of the world's largest investors to governments ahead of the UNFCCC negotiations scheduled to convene in Doha, Qatar, beginning on 26 November. The letter calls for a “new dialogue” on climate change policy to avert dangerous climate change and resulting economic impacts.

EC Proposes One-Year Deferral of EU ETS International Aviation Compliance [viewed]

20 November 2012: The European Commission (EC) presented a legislative proposal to “stop the clock” on monitoring and reporting of aviation emissions for flights into and out of Europe, by deferring for one year the requirements under the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) for airlines to surrender these emission allowances. Flights within Europe will continue to be covered by the regulation.

UNGA President Urges Agreement, Accelerated Progress on SDG Working Group [viewed]
