World Bank Examines Barriers to CCS Deployment [viewed]

23 September 2011: The World Bank has published a report, titled "Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in Developing Countries: A Perspective on Barriers to Deployment," which assesses some of the most important barriers facing CCS deployment and assesses the economic and environmental impacts of potential CCS deployment in the power sector in the Balkan and Southern African regions, using a techno-economic model.

EU, Switzerland Continue Negotiations on Linking their Emissions Trading Systems [viewed]

20 September 2011: The second round of negotiations between the EU and Switzerland on linking their carbon emissions trading systems was held on 20 September 2011, in Zurich, Switzerland. The negotiations seek to develop an agreement under which Switzerland and the EU would recognize each other’s carbon emissions allowances.

UNFCCC Publishes AWG-LCA Submissions from India and the Philippines [viewed]

UNFCCC28 September 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published five submissions from India and one from the Philippines, which will be issued as conference room papers (CRP) to be considered by the third part of the 14th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 14), which will take place in Panama City, Panama, from 1-7 October 2011.

World Bank, IMF Analyze Impact of Economic Crisis on Development [viewed]
